Ceres is the debut title of development studio Jötunn Games. It’s a complex, fast paced 3D space combat simulator and focuses on ship customization and fast, hectic combat. With RPG elements, trade and mining.

The development for Ceres began as a programming exercise for the Unity3D engine. With multiple restarts and breaks, the initial project started to form around 2011. Developer Jötunn Games started out with no design document but with just the idea to create a rough Homeworld clone. Simply some big slow ships with fighters, drones to mine asteroids and a hostile force to fight with.
But the game continued to grow and it was around 2013 that it started to get more attention online.
Captains were added to the game, modules – both internal and external-, complex ship management
systems came in existence along with AI’s and crews.
The game grew into more than solely a Homeworld clone. It had become an original project, a game
